Playoff Substitution Policy

Roster Eligibility: Only players listed on the team's official roster are eligible for playoff games. Any additions or changes to the roster must be communicated to the league administration before the playoffs begin.

Approval Requirement: All substitutions must be approved by the league office prior to the start of the first playoff game. Teams must submit a request detailing the reason for the substitution and the replacement player's information for review and approval.

Skill Level Requirement: Substitute players must possess skill abilities equal to or lesser than the rostered player they are replacing. This ensures fair competition and prevents teams from gaining an unfair advantage through substitutions.

Participation: Substituted players must commit to remaining on the team for the duration of the playoff tournament, spanning all weeks or rounds of competition. This requirement helps maintain team cohesion and consistency throughout the playoffs.

Documentation: All approved substitutions must be documented and reported to the league administration promptly after the game. This includes providing details such as the player substituted, the reason for substitution, and any relevant timestamps.

Penalties for Violations: Violations of the playoff substitution policy, including unauthorized substitutions or failure to comply with skill level requirements, may result in penalties such as forfeits of games, disqualification from the playoffs, or other sanctions determined by the league administration.

Protest Process: Teams have the right to protest any decisions related to substitutions or penalties. Any protest made during a game or after a game will NOT be considered a formal protest. A formal protest may be filed before a game if an opposing player’s eligibility is in question. The player in question will be required to provide his/her player information (ID) in person to a CCA staff member prior to the start of the game. This qualifies as an official protest and only applies to the playoffs. The game will then be played in its entirety as scheduled. Teams will be notified of all rulings on the identified eligibility discrepancy by the following business day – decisions will not be made on site. If the protest is proven to be legitimate, it will result in the forfeiture of the game in question. Games subsequent to the protested game may be rescheduled. The above procedure will also apply for any other “logged” protests. All protest needs to happen prior to any match/game starting; otherwise, the match/game will stand as a legal match. All rulings by CCA staff are considered final.

League Discretion: The league administration reserves the right to make exceptions or modifications to the playoff substitution policy in extenuating circumstances. Any such decisions will be communicated to all teams in a timely and transparent manner.

Communication: For any inquiries or clarifications regarding playoff substitutions or related matters, teams are encouraged to reach out to info@ccasports.com.
